Adding and archiving media for MMS messages

NOTE - PDF and video media types are coming soon!

Admins and Account owners control what media can be added to an account. In the media library, admins manage what images can be attached to use cases and MMS campaigns through adding and archiving media.

NOTE - Media must be added to the Media Library before it can be added to a Use Case.

After clicking "+ Add media to library," a window will appear, and you can choose a file or drag and drop your media. The supported file types include:

  • PNG
  • GIF
  • MP4
  • MOV
  • MPG
  • WEB
  • PDF

Note that the maximum file size is 10MB. If your file is too large, you will see a warning message. Once your media is successfully uploaded, you can close the window. To learn more about video MMS, check out our guide: Video MMS in ThruText.

For help with resizing your images to maintain your original proportions, visit our guide on Resizing Your Images. If your video is too large to upload (greater than 10MB), please see this guide on decreasing the size of your video file.

After adding your first image

For US accounts, after adding your first image, you will be prompted to add it to your 10DLC use case. A Use Case sample image is required to be able to send MMS messages in the United States.

Archiving media items

When media is archived, it can no longer be selected during campaign creation. To archive something:

  • Open the Media Library
  • Locate the media you would like to archive
  • Click the three vertical dots at the top right of the media's box
  • Select "Archive"

Only admins and account owners can make changes to the Media Library. To change a user's permission levels refer to our guide on managing a user's permissions.
