Sending Type Experiences

There are three sending types available within ThruText. This includes Manual Send, QuickSend, and Bulk Send, which are detailed below for the message sender experience.

The admin for your organization will determine the sending type available for your assignments within the account. For details on the admin process for each sending type, please check out our Sending Type Information for Admins guide.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

  • Manual Send: Each message is sent individually
  • QuickSend: All the initial messages or followups in your assignment are sent automatically with one click
  • Bulk Send: Initial messages are sent by the admin, and replies are handled within the assignment
  • Additional Notes: For all sending types

Manual Send

Manual send is the default sending method. With manual sending, you'll see a "Send" button within the Messenger to send out your assigned initial messages and follow-up messages. Clicking the Send button only sends the message that appears in the text input form. Manual send is the only sending method available for sending replies to contacts.

QuickSend

With QuickSend, you can send your initial messages or followups with one click. QuickSend will continue sending messages as long as the Messenger remains open. If you close it early, the process will stop and remaining messages won’t be sent.

If a campaign has QuickSend enabled, the Messenger's "Send" button is replaced with a "Send All" button:

You can only click the "Send All" button once to start the QuickSend process. After clicking the button, the button will become disabled and you will see your messages fly out! View the gif below for a demonstration:

Bulk Send

Bulk Send automates the initial message-sending process. When the Bulk Send method is used, a ThruText campaign will enter a “bulk sending” stage after the campaign launches. During this stage, initial messages are sent in the background.

Once bulk sending is complete, will receive an email for assigned replies. Just like with your assigned initial messages, the assigned replies will be available from your assignment page. When handling Bulk Send messaging, you'll want to focus on responding to messages and recording survey data

The "New Assignment" email for Bulk Send campaigns will indicate that the Bulk Send method is being used. Users must wait for bulk sending to complete before they can access replies. Example:

Additional Notes

  • Replies are always handled manually, regardless of the sending method used for initial messages.
  • Replies appear only after all initial messages have been sent. At that time, you can begin sending your Recommended Replies.
  • Followups can be sent with QuickSend after the Bulk Send method is used for initial messages.
