Tag Report Exports

 

Campaign tags are a powerful tool for tracking usage across different departments, clients, or organizational functions, especially when managing internal billing or reconciling costs with third-party partners. By applying tags to your ThruText campaigns, you can generate detailed monthly exports that categorize and break down usage data by tag. This makes it easy to allocate costs based on campaign activity, even when multiple teams or clients share a single GetThru account. 


Tag reports are monthly Account Level Exports that contain the total number of conversations, outgoing SMS messages, outgoing SMS segments, outgoing SMS failed messages, outgoing MMS messages, and outgoing MMS failed messages for each tagged campaign. An example tag report can be seen below:

Adding Tags

Tags can be added during campaign creation or to already launched campaigns. 


Campaign Creation

Active, Paused, and Archived Campaigns

Tags can also be added to Active, Paused, and Archived campaigns. To add tags to a campaign, open the campaign's details page. Then type in your tag and hit ENTER or click the plus button located below the "Targeting" section.

Tag Exports

To generate an Account Tags export, expand the leftside ThruText Tools menu and click on "Exports". You can then select Account Tags from the dropdown and select a month to generate tags for.  

NOTE - The download links expire after a short period of time to ensure the security of your data. If you get an error, simply refresh the page and click "Download" again. You can review our guide for more information: Download Protection Error.


Tag reports only show unbillable message errors, not unbillable statuses. Please review Message Exports for information on unbillable status messages. If this is important to you, please reach out to support@getthru.io


While Historical Data Requests are reserved for requests greater than a month, Tag Reports can be used for easily tracking monthly data. If you are interested in additional ways to manage your ThruText account data (messages, surveys, and opt-outs), we recommend utilizing Nightly S3 Export Delivery.


Using Campaign Tags for Internal or Third-Party Billing

Invoices do not include campaign-level details. For this reason, we strongly recommend using campaign tags as the primary method for segmenting and reconciling usage. The data available via tag exports is more granular and customizable for your internal billing needs. Tag exports may include failed messages that were not billed to your account. Because of this, message totals in the export may be higher than what’s shown on your invoice.
