Exporting Data to your AWS S3 Bucket

GetThru can automatically export your ThruText and ThruTalk data to an Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 bucket. This allows you to manage your data outside the platform, build custom reports, or integrate with your own systems—without needing to download exports manually.

This guide explains how the exports work and what’s included.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

How the Export Works

To enable nightly S3 exports, your organization must grant GetThru permission to send files to your AWS S3 bucket.

To get started, you can reach out to GetThru Support at support@getthru.io. We’ll provide step-by-step instructions for setting up your S3 bucket and sharing the required region, bucket name, and role ARN for export delivery.

Key Details

  • You can configure multiple GetThru accounts to send to the same S3 bucket.
  • Each GetThru account can only be linked to one S3 bucket.
  • Exports are generated nightly at approximately 08:00 UTC.
  • The exports that are generated contain data from a 24 hour period: 07:00 UTC the previous day to 07:00 UTC on the day the export runs.
For example, the export generated on 01/10/2025 will include activity from 01/09/2025 07:00 UTC - 01/10/2025 07:00 UTC.

ThruText S3 Exports

ThruText will send the following exports:

  • Daily messages
  • Daily surveys
  • Daily opt-outs

These exports are delivered even if there’s no new activity, so some files may be blank.

These exports have the same structure as our account-level exports. Learn more about what's included in each file here: ThruText Export Types.

ThruTalk S3 Exports

ThruTalk sends the following files:

  • Caller activity details
  • Do not call
  • Patchthru calls
  • Account all dials
  • Campaign dials

With the exception of Campaign dials, a new report is sent each night, so some files may be blank. The Campaign dials report is only generated when new dials are made.

Learn more about what's included in each file here: ThruTalk Export Types.

API Endpoint

If you prefer not to use AWS S3, GetThru also provides an API endpoint that returns the same daily messages and opt-out exports. This option allows you to programmatically access reports each night. Read more here: Daily Messages and Opt Out Export API.
