Starting and ending your campaign's day
Daily Open and Close times in ThruText are based on a 24-hour clock for a single day in the time zone set for that campaign. Open and Close times ensure that messages are not sent too late in the evening.
- Daily Open Time - Controls what time of day your texters can send outgoing messages throughout a campaign.
- Daily Close Time - Controls what time of day your texters cannot send outgoing messages throughout a campaign.
Daily Open and Close times are different than Start and End times. Start and End dates control the initial message sending window which can last multiple days, but Open and Close time controls the time of day that outgoing messages can be sent.
At campaign creation and editing
Always set your close time to be after your open time in the same 24-hour period. If you attempt to add a close time that is before the open time, the system will deliver an error that the close time cannot be before the open time. In the screenshot below, the close time is set to 12 am, which comes before 9 am on a 24-hour clock:
In this example, the admin wants the campaign to run from 9 am until the end of the day. Since 12 am is 00:00 on the 24-hour clock, it is the start of the day.
If you want your campaign to run till the end of the day, set your close time to 11:59 pm. That will ensure the system opens the campaign at 9 am and closes it at 11:59 pm:
In this example, the admin closed the campaign at 11:59 pm. Their campaign will run from 9 am to 11:59 pm, or 09:00 to 23:59 on the 24-hour clock.
After the campaign's close time, but before opening, texters will see the message "This assignment is closed." Texters can refer to our guide on Texting Hours for more information.
Outside of open hours
In the Messenger, texters can navigate to that assignment from their assignments page, but they cannot see or send messages.
When the campaign is closed, admins can still view conversations. On the Admin Conversations page, admins will encounter a status message above the Message Input box with a reminder that the messages will not be sent immediately.
It's important to note that GetThru does not send messages to contacts after a campaign is closed. If an admin attempts to send a message through the Admin Messenger, our SuperCollider system queues the messages to be sent the next time the campaign is open. Admins can check their messages' status in message exports. Please note that not all accounts are on the SuperCollider system. Please write to support@getthru.io with any questions about your account.
NOTE - If the campaign is archived, the waiting messages will not be sent.
